You remember it like it was yesterday. You know where you were and who you were with. One year ago today, the Billy Goat Curse was lifted. Cubs fans from around the world celebrated. Especially the fans at Billy Goat Tavern!
When the Cubs received their World Series rings, the Goat was not forgotten. It featured 108 diamonds and one Chicago jewel.
This weekend, runners will descend on the Loop to race through the streets for the Hot Chocolate 15K/5K race benefiting the Make-a-Wish foundation! If you’re running the race or watching a participant, stop on by the Billy Goat under Michigan Avenue and say hi! We’ve get the perfect post-race cheezborger and beer for lunch! The race route brings runners just close enough to Billy Goat to hear us shouting “Cheezborger, Cheezborger!” So cross the finish line and head on over for your reward!
A new exhibit is open at the Museum of Broadcast Communications featuring Saturday Night Live. Described as a once in a lifetime experience, walk through a week at SNL and feel like you’re in the studio for a filming! Bill and Sam were on hand to check it out for themselves! They were invited by museum chairman, Larry Wert, as special guests with a unique connection to the show. “Cheezborger, Cheezborger” was immortalized by John Belushi in the Olympia Restaurant skit. Check out the exhibit at The Museum of Broadcast Communications at 306 N. State Street in Chicago!
