St. Patrick’s Day and Billy Goat Tavern

Traditions mean a lot at Billy Goat Tavern and the whole city of Chicago for that matter. One of those traditions is the dying of the Chicago River. Head down to see the river dyed green this Saturday.

Then, before the parade starts, head on over to Billy Goat Tavern UNDER Michigan Avenue to fill up on our breakfast. Or grab a cheezborger to go!

Kings of Leon at the United Center

After a delay in their schedule due to illness, Kings of Leon will finally be playing their scheduled January 23rd show on March 8th. If you still have your tickets for the show, stop by Billy Goat on Madison for a cheezborger and a beer. Then take the first shuttle over to the United Center…your feet!

The Original Billy Goat Tavern

“It was tough on Billy at first. That first year he must have gone through 25 bartenders. All of them were stealing. That’s why he used to sit in a high chair right by the stairs with that kid’s hammer that squeaked and that he used to bang on anybody he saw staring at the girls walking down the stairs and say, ‘don’t pay attention to that!’ What he was really doing was watching the bartenders and cash register.”

SNL – Season 3 – Episode 11

“Him? No. My brother, Mike, he’s in the back. George, he’s my first cousin, but I treat him like a brother. Sandy, she’s my second cousin, but I treat her like a first cousin. Him….he’s my third cousin, but I treat him like a fourth cousin, because he’s vlahos. You know what that means? Stupid.”
